WHY TRY PRIVATE YOGA?
If you’re new to yoga, going to classes at a studio or gym can feel intimidating. Learn the basic poses and sequences like Downward Dog and Sun Salutations. You’ll also learn meditation and breathing techniques to reduce stress. Individualized instruction and feedback on safe alignment will help you develop body awareness. Classes are customized for your body, so you’ll see more progress than you would in a group setting. Starting out your practice with private lessons helps you feel comfortable on your mat and confident to attend any group class.
Suffering from a recent or preexisting injury? Yoga can be a great recovery exercise if practiced in a private setting. You’ll learn poses you should avoid with your injury. Strengthen and stretch to decrease the likelihood injury and rehab your body. A modified class will help you practice within the limitations of your body, so you won’t induce further injury. Equip yourself with strategies and modifications to accommodate your injury within the context of a group class.
If you have hit your yoga plateau, private yoga may also be a great option. With hands-on assists and individual support, you’ll take your practice to an intermediate or advanced level. Study more complex poses safety, under the guidance of an experienced instructor. Within the context of the general yoga class, it’s difficult to grow your skills when everyone is at unique levels. Private yoga can grow your knowledge base about breathing, meditation, and sequencing. You’ll create your own distinctive home practice.
